The son of Mexican immigrants, Chingo Bling grew up entrenched in Mexican American culture, and as he grew he realized that he could be a much needed voice for a sorely underrepresented people. His first taste of the music world was as college radio personality in San Antonio. Then he landed on a DJ’s mixtape and a fellow colleague’s underground album. When flea market sales started being driven by Chingo appearances, he knew then it was time to capitalize, and Big Chile Enterprises was open for business. The young salesman started pitching his first underground efforts to local independent record stores, and the rest is history. After cornering South Texas’ underground scene, it was time worldwide expansion … and this Houston indie artist hasn’t wasted any time when it comes to merchandising, movie deals, and his Big Chile record label.
